Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026
This page explains which cookies and similar technologies this site uses, who sets them and how to control them. It sits alongside the privacy policy.
The short version
BillDecoded sets almost nothing itself. It runs no analytics product and no tracking pixels of its own. The cookies you will encounter here are advertising cookies set by Google and its partners, plus a small number of technical ones needed for the site to work.
What we use
| Category | Set by | What it does | Can you refuse it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | This site | Remembers your cookie choice, and keeps the private admin area signed in. Nothing here identifies you as a visitor or follows you elsewhere. | No — the site cannot work without them, and they are exempt from consent requirements |
| Advertising | Google and its advertising partners | Serves ads, limits how many times you see the same ad, and measures whether ads worked. May be used to personalise ads based on your browsing. | Yes. See below |
| Analytics | — | We do not use any. | Not applicable |
| Social media | — | There are no social embeds, share widgets or trackers on this site. | Not applicable |
The site also uses your browser's local storage to remember your cookie preference, so you are not asked on every page. That is not shared with anyone.
Advertising cookies in more detail
We use Google AdSense to show advertising. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. Other third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads here and may use their own cookies or similar technologies, which we do not control.
How to control them
- Through the consent prompt on this site. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area you are asked before non-essential advertising cookies are used, and you can change your mind at any time.
- Google Ads Settings. Turn off personalised advertising across Google's services at google.com/settings/ads.
- Industry opt-outs. youronlinechoices.com for the UK and Europe, or aboutads.info/choices.
- Your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, including third-party cookies specifically. Look under Settings, then Privacy.
Turning off personalised advertising does not remove advertising. You will still see ads; they will simply be less relevant to you, and this site will earn less from them.
Do Not Track
There is no agreed standard for how websites should respond to browser Do Not Track signals, so this site does not respond to them. The controls listed above do work.
Changes
If the advertising setup on this site changes in a way that affects cookies, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
